$5 National Bank Note. Naugatuck NB of Naugatuck, CT. Ch. 3020. Fr. 467. The only bank to charter in this New Haven county locale, having done so in 1883. This makes only the second Brown Back to appear at auction from this institution out of only eleven total large notes known. A well circulated example with the typical splits and edge roughness found on notes such as this Good/Very Good example. Nice surviving pen signatures of A.H. Dayton as Cashier and George Lewis as President. Both men served together from 1883 until 1913. Estimated Value $500 - UP
