$1 National Bank Note. Hampshire County NB, Northampton, MA. Ch. 418. Fr. 384. PMG Fine 12. The second bank to charter in town, doing so on May 7, 1864. The bank was actually placed into receivership on May 23, 1898, and restored their solvency on March 20, 1899 and allowed to continue to operate until finally being liquidated on March 22, 1920.
