$1 National Bank Note. Southport NB, Southport, CT. Ch. 660. Fr. 380b. PMG Fine 12 Net. Tape Repairs. This was the only bank to charter in this Fairfield county town, having done so in December 1864. The bank was placed into receivership in May 1903. This Ace, which last appeared at auction in 1998, has retained nice colors along with the pen signatures of Elisha Sherwood as Cashier and Francis D. Perry as President. Splits are noted at the folds, along with a small piece of tape on back. Estimated Value $750 - UP
