Commodus. Æ Medallion 45 mm (50.85 g), AD 177-192. Pergamum in Mysia, ca. AD 180-182. M. Ai. Glykonianos, magistate. AYTO KAI M AYPH KOMOΔO? laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus right. Reverse: EΠI CTP M AI ΓΛYKΩNIANOY ΠEPΓAMHNΩN B NEOKOPΩN, emperor, in military attire, standing facing on base, head right, holding spear and erecting trophy, before which a captive seated left; to left, female figure wielding double-axe, about to sacrifice bull standing left below the captive. RPC IV.2 Online temp. 3255.5 = SNG BN 2166 (same dies). Very Rare - finer than the nine specimens documented in RPC, six of which are in museum collections. Uniform dark green patina.
