Pseudoscorpion in 100 Million Year Old Amber. Burmese amber known as Burmite is a fossilized resin that came from an extinct species of conifer tree that grew in the Hukawng Valley in northern Burma/Myanmar 97 - 105 million years age. Many of the insect inclusions in this 100 million year old amber are familiar in shape to existing insects but the particular species they represent is now extinct. This clear golden amber cabochon (13 X 10 mm) contains a complete clear Pseudoscorpion about 5 mm in size. A Pseudoscorpion is actually an ancient arachnid with pincers that looks like those of a scorpion. Estimated Value $600 - UP
