Beautiful Russian Enamel Jewel Box Chest with Extremely Fine Panel of Russian Imperial Infantry. Outstanding Russian enamel jewel box with details in the traditional foliate design are exquisitely rendered. Russian pieces have an assayers mark of a woman wearing a scarf or traditional kokoshnik narrowing down a when piece was made. If the woman is facing left, it usually means made prior to 1908, to the right after 1908. The number 84 means 84 zolotnik or silver fineness. This piece is hallmarked 84 Zolotnik with woman facing right.
