Incredible 22K Gold Etruscan Revival Collar. Interwoven chain pattern with ram's head finial's (one lacking hook). Attached are 22K gold ornaments depicting the heads of Bes (protector of children) and Apia (man-headed bull) terminating with turtles and shells. Length: 22", Weight: 166.0 grams = 5.43 ozt

The Etruscans were a powerful clan with an alien tongue and strange customs. They emerged in what is now central Italy sometime around the 6th century BC.

Although still an amazing museum quality piece that should stir considerable interest, the age is uncertain and thus it is be called a "revival" piece.
This piece sold in last auction and went unpaid. Estimated Value $10,000 - 15,000
Stored for over 50 years in a bank vault in Santa Barbara.
