Sutzens. Pair of Cupids 19th Century. A pair of wonderful paintings of Cupids bedecked in floral garland against blue skies. We could not find anything regarding the artist but the extensive darkening to the back of the canvas, the nails to secure to stretcher and the frame certainly point to the 19th Century.
The frames are matching in gold gilt with hand painted scroll work. These works have charm to spare and absolutely beautiful. Wear commensurate with age.
17½ x 15½ with white wax numbering on verso from an auction house, likely in Europe. Estimated Value $1,500 - 3,000
