Farshchian, Mahmoud. Scenic Fairy Tale. (1930 -91 years old) Mahmoud Farshchian is the most celebrated and revered painter of Iranian art of the 20th Century. "The Museum of Master Mahmoud Farshchian", is a museum devoted to the works of Farshchian, which has been set up by the Cultural Heritage Foundation in the Sa'dabad Cultural Complex in Tehran, inaugurated in 2001 and hold a great percentage of his works.

Farshchian is the founder of his own school in Iranian Painting, which adheres to classical form while making use of new techniques to broaden the scope of Iranian painting. That is clearly evident in this original watercolor and gouache executed on paper on board of a traditional scene of song and dance taken from a poem or tale. The near surreal movement and colors in extraordinary detail is something to behold. An absolutely magnificent work. Actual artwork is 18 x 13" with a traditional Khatam frame of exceptional marquetry 29 x 22"

Work was removed from frame for inspection and is in mint condition. The artwork will be shipped in frame but without glass to insure there is no damage to the artwork during transportation unless picked up in person. Estimated Value $10,000 - 15,000
