The most spectacular miniature in our Persian collection executed with astonishing detail on camel bone. 25 riders on horses playing the traditional game of "Chovgan" which morphed into Polo in European countries and the Americas. There is so much detail in the garments of the riders and the stunning accuracy in the depiction of horses at full gallop. Note women are included as they played as well.
