Lot 132

Bold Signatures by Steven Spielberg, Blake Edwards, Ted Turner. Plus A Pointed Letter to the WGA by Marlon Brando. A collection of pieces from a former executive at the Writers Guild of America in the 1990s.

1.) Superb autographed color 8 x 10 vintage portrait photo by acclaimed director and producer, Steven Spielberg, likely from late 1970s early 1980s during "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Basically, at the top of his game that has spanned decades like few other director/producers in American film history. Outstanding portrait and large signature.

2.) Lovely typed letter signed on personal stationery by Blake Edwards regarding the events hosted by the WGA for the great Preston Sturgess.

3.) Typed letter signed by media maverick and mogul, Ted Turner, on Turner Enterprises, Inc. letterhead in Atlanta, Ga. declining a programming effort dated 2009, R.E. Turner, Chairman.

4.) Typed letter signed from Marlon Brando to the Writer's Guild of America declining an offer to present the Best Screenplay Award dated February 14, 1995.
"I don't know how you can distinguish who's the 'best' and who's the 'not'. Certainly I couldn't." He then mentions he will be Europe and then to Australia at the time, which of course was to film "Island of Dr. Moreau" proving he should have attended the WGA ceremony. On personal stationery with his Mulholland Drive address. Dictated to and signed by secretary.

Also included are 5 years of WGA Award programs from the 90s. Estimated Value $250 - 500

Realized $209
