Lot 533

1794 S-70 R2 Head of 1795 NGC graded XF45. Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth and nearly void of marks. A contact mark or fissure on the left edge of the cap is the only notable mark. LDS. The die crack from between the T & Y in LIBERTY to the portrait is strong and reaches down to the jawline where it fades away. Our grade is VF30. Once housed in a PCGS slab graded AU50 (PCGS label #1365.50/4974079 included). The attribution and Alfonso Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 3; 3 finer: 2 in 50, 1 in 53. Estimated Value $2,750 - UP
