Lot 515

1794 S-44 R1 PCGS graded XF40. Attractive glossy reddish chocolate brown with frost covering the protected areas on both sides. A cent with smooth surfaces, light wear, and great eye appeal. Just a few trivial marks including a small rim nick over the E in LIBERTY and some dull contact marks or struck-through depressions at the fraction weakening that feature. Otherwise this cent is choice. LDS, Breen state V early. The die cracks on both sides are clear but not at their strongest. A thin but clear double profile shows from the forehead down to the chin. Our grade is VF30. The attribution and Alfonso Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 6 finer: 1 in 45, 3 in 50, 2 in 55. Estimated Value $5,000 - UP
