Lot 503

1794 S-24 R1 VF25+. Very attractive glossy chocolate brown and steel with frosty lighter brown toning in protected areas. Flowline luster shows in protected areas, especially on the reverse, and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a small rim bruise below the 9 in the date and a trio of old scratches below AM in AMERICA. Otherwise this cent is flawless and would deserve a higher grade. M-LDS, Breen state V, with obvious die flowlines in the fields and two die cracks on the obverse. The center of the reverse is bulged outward slightly, typical of the later die states of the variety, but ONE CENT is still complete and clear. Comes with an important provenance. Estimated Value $1,750 - UP
