Lot 32

1842 N-7 R3+ Large Date PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Choice lustrous light olive and bluish steel with sea-green overtones. A superior cent with outstanding eye appeal. Sharply struck with full radial lines in all the stars and nearly full hair details at the top of the ear (which is quite unusual for this variety). Looks flawless to the unaided eye but there are a few microscopic marks including a dull scuff on the coronet above the B and a spot of lighter brown toning on the right end of the eyebrow. E-MDS, die state a late. The points up from the top of the E in AMERICA are still clear and fine die rust has formed in the obverse fields. Our grade is MS63+, CC#2 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; none finer. Estimated Value $2,750 - UP
