The Jewish War, 66-70 CE. Silver Shekel (12.32 g). Year 3 = 68/69 AD Omer cup with pearled rim, base with projections; Shekel of Israel Year 3, (in Paleo-Hebrew). Reverse: In Paleo-Hebrew, Jerusalem the holy; Stem with three pomegranate buds, round base. Hendin 1361; Deutsch 69; AJC II, p. 261, 18. Nicely centered on a full flan. Bold strike with much luster on the obverse. Some porosity and light corrosion is noted on the reverse. NGC photo-cert graded Ch AU, Strike: 5/5, Surface: 2/5. Our grade is Extremely Fine.
