1802 S-231 R1 Stemless Wreath NGC graded MS62 Brown. Lustrous steel brown and chocolate with subtle puffs of frosty lighter brown and tan in protected areas. Tiny peeps of mellowed mint red can be found in some of the most-protected areas on both sides. The surfaces and eye appeal are excellent and the only mark is a dull vertical nick below the L in LIBERTY. Looks mint state but there is a very light touch of rub on the highest points of the devices. M-LDS, Breen state VIII, with die cracks on both sides. A new discovery; not seen by Noyes. Our grade is AU58, clearly in the condition census for this popular Stemless Wreath variety. Estimated Value $5,000 - UP
