Lot 807

1868. PCGS graded MS-65. Nicely toned wich classic antique golden gray with tinges of blue intermixed. The toning is wonderfully original and evenly distributred on both sides. Boldly struck on the central and peripheral devices, and free of all but the most minor signs of handling. A regal example of this date and mint, worthy of an advanced collection. Gem grades are most difficult to earn on this series, as these coins are large and prone to getting handling marks, and were not carefully stored over the generations, hence their rarity today in Gem. A prize for the astute specialist. Pop 5; 2 finer, 1 in 66, 1 in 67. (PCGS # 6323) Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500
