Lot 716

1853. Arrows and rays. PCGS graded MS-65. Toned on both sides with deep golden gray with flecks of yellow blended into the fields, the reverse is a bit lighter with flashy silver in the fields. This is a short lived type coin with the Arrows and Rays announcing the reduced silver standard that began in early 1853. Most of these entered circulation and stayed there for many years. Thus finding a mint state coin, or a gem like this, is quite an opportunity. Sharply impressed an a desirable example of this prized issue. Pop 19; 16 finer, 4 in 65+, 9 in 66, 3 in 67. (PCGS # 5426) Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,500
