1856. NGC graded Proof 66. Mostly untoned except for the obverse edges with the centers as white as a headlight, the rims framing the coin with beauty and contrast. The surfaces are virtually perfect, with so signs of handling and the frost is fresh and unbroken. A rare early proof coin, which is seldom available and worthy of considerable attention when offered. This example has resplendent eye appeal. Boldly struck and brilliant. Only 50 struck, with 30 to 40 examples estimated to have survived according to PCGS Pop Report. Pop 3; 6 finer, 5 in 66 Cameo, 1 in 68 Cameo. Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000
