Lot 18

1802/0 C-2 R3 Overdate 2 over 0 with Reverse of 1803 VG10+. Sharpness F15 but there is a shallow planchet flake or void on the neck and a few light hairline scratches from the shoulder into the hair right of the ribbon, but you need a glass to see any of them. Lightly cleaned long ago, now toned slightly glossy olive brown and steel with peeps of lighter brown in some of the protected areas. The surfaces are smooth. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, with die lines between the I & B in LIBERTY and a closed curl left of the date. The date and legends are complete and strong except for the usual weakness in the center of the reverse. The overdate feature is obvious. An imperfect but still quite nice example of this popular overdate variety. Estimated Value $1,250 - UP
