Apollo 13: Two Great Pieces Both Signed by Fred Haise Apollo 13 LMP, Flown ALSEP Pen Ink, Excellent Inscribed and Signed Red Serial Number. Apollo 13, while not completing its Mission to land on the moon, nevertheless proved one of NASA's finest moments in getting the three men on board back home safely. Offered are two very scarce and terrific pieces for any level of collector.
1.) Ken Havekotte of SpaceCoast Cover Service created a collectible limited to only 30 pieces with his handwritten certification being written, signed and then co-signed by Fred Haise, Apollo 13 LMP, by using the pen that flew with Haise as did the ink. The pen (and therefore the ink) and the crew, traveled the furthest from Earth than anyone else has done since. Near to mint condition, cover having only a hint of age toning.
2.) Superb vintage original 8 x 10", Red Serial Number (AS13-62-9004) with Fred Haise inscribing what is actually being depicted in the photo "Jack & Jim at work hooking up the makeship fix that worked to remove the dangerous build up of C02! Fred Haise Apollo 13 LMP". Both excellent pieces. Estimated Value $600 - UP
