Apollo 13: Highly Prized Jack Swigert, Signed and Inscribed White Space Suit Portrait and One by Fred Haise. Considered one of Apollo's finest moments, the safe return of the Apollo 13 crew after an oxygen tank explosion riveted the world and has been the source of numerous films and books. Three days before the launch, Swigert replaced Ken Mattingly who was exposed to the German Measles by Charles Duke as NASA could not risk an infection during the mission. Scores of signed photos exist pre-signed before the mission by Mattingly thus making Swigert especially scarce and prized by collectors. Inscribed and signed 7 x 9½" color photo (white borders trimmed precisely) signed as Jack Swigert. Complimenting the Swigert signed photo is one by Fred Haise who has inscribed on an 8 x 10" white space suit portrait to Ralph's Bar & Grille -Best Wishes Fred Haise, Apollo 13". Excellent pieces. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
