Great Collection of Sports Autographs: 55 Autographs Here, Signed Photos & Books and 52 Autographs in Great Moments in Stanford Sports. Great collection of autographs here. 1.) Most unusual is a first edition copy of Great Moments in Stanford Sports all obtained at a single even on May 22nd 1953. The book was a history by Pete Grothe of all sports at Stanford and how many became legends themselves. Autographs include the great Bob Mathias (Two consecutive Olympic gold medals 1948 and 1952 in the Decathalon, then a member of Congress) Chuck Taylor 30+ year career as footaball player, coach, and ultimately college athletics administrator, Bud Spencer famed athletic coach in track & field and Pop Warner, legendary coach, boasted a nine year coaching tenure at Stanford. There are so many signing the years graduated and go back to 1928 so a lot of great history here. All the signatures are excellent and are found written in the blank page and title page. 2.) Oversized 14 x 11 B&W photo of Frank Robinson while playing with the Orioles signed in gold Flair. 3.) Bob Gibson signed color photo. 3.) Two original pen & ink portraits by Bob Grable for nationally syndicated news services; George Foster first year with the NY Mets and Ron Perranoski, outstanding pitcher as a player for predominantly the LA Dodgers, then a near 14 year career as a pitching coach. Both original illustrations are in excellent condition. 4.) Signed copy by author Doug Feldman of Dizzy and the Gashouse Gang. 5.) One image of Willie Mays; which is a fine re-strike, 5 x 7" B&W photo in front of a marquee. 6.) 4 x 5" B&W vintage photo of a Black Soldier at bat at a military base during WWII misidentified as Willie Mays on verso, photo by Stars & Stripes Magazine.
