Italian Porcelain Figure. 20th century. Height: 21½". Shepherdess (?) figure with ewe, extraordinary detail. Marked on base with "carpie" and a device featuring the letters "C P" over an "N". Made with such detail that individual leaves are applied, unfortunately, three leaves from the bunch our figure carries are missing their tips. One botanic detail at her feet is also chipped away, several individual blades of grass are missing their tips, otherwise fine condition.
A beautiful piece of remarkable size and craftsmanship -- each tear in her skirt is well defined, as are the tussocky blades of grass at her feet.
