Rosenthal Handpainted Plate. Width: 8½", diameter: 7". Handpainted with sweetpea design, gold trim. Marked "Rosenthal / Selb Bavaria / Donatell" and signed "Helbing / =21". Minor wear to gold trim, some surface wear visible only on examination.
The lovely sweetpea pattern and delicate yet vivid colors make this a lovely example of Rosenthal's early 20th century work. Donatello, a simple pattern, was often painted with floral or fruit motifs and accented with gold handles as seen here.
