Pair of French Covered Urns with Brass Bases. Early 20th century. 17" to top of finial. Brass bottoms stamped "Made in France", porcelain urns are unsigned.Transferred design with beautiful hand-painted gold accents and other details. Artwork is signed "M Giul Pou" on both urns. Both urns would be easily converted to lamps. A couple of very small nicks to the bases, otherwise very good to fine condition.
18th century courting couples, complete with chaperone, grace both urns. Sevres blue trim, delicate accent work, a pleasing subject and detailed brass bases make a lovely pair of French decorative objects.
