Micha Bar-Am Portfolio. Set of ten 14 x 11" gelatin silver prints from original negatives. Signed and numbered photographs (this is set 155 of 200) in protective case with silk ribbon. Included are facsimile letters of support from notables and a certificate of authenticity issued with the portfolio by Photographic Publishers International in 1981. These sets are becoming very hard to find and we are fortunate to offer such a brilliant collection. All of the photographs are in excellent condition.

A noted Israeli press and art photographer, Bar-Am has documented life in Israel since the 1950s -- chronicling not only the harrowing of war, but the enriching power of community and tradition. A true master of black and white, Bar-Am uses shadow and light to reveal the nuances that pass many of us by -- with each viewing, new details emerge from these prints and Bar-Am's notes open our eyes to those things we may miss. The ten wonderful prints that make up this collection are: The First Soldier at the Wall, Six Day War; David Ben Gurion, 1966; Bereaved Father, 1967; Funeral at Yerka, 1968; Alley in Jerusalem, 1972; Yom Kippur Eve, 1967; Torah Scribe, 1971; Crossing the Suez, 1973; Artillery Barrage, Suez Canal, 1973; Father Neophitus, 1967.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
