Lot 937

Apollo 16, Rare Lunar Surface Flown Netting Segment, Used to Secure Material Inside LM Orion on the Descartes Highlands of the Moon. Segment cut from a larger segment of safety netting that flew to the surface of the moon on Apollo 16 aboard the Lunar Module "Orion" for three days, April 20-23, 1972. The original netting was from the collection of Charles Duke, John Young and Ken Mattingly and acquired by a German dealer who created a limited edition run of only 99 (this being #25) smaller segments and present in a beautiful display mount with color images and information on front and back. Measures 9 x 6¾" and in mint condition. Includes a copy of the May, 2018 COA of the initial sale of the netting. Estimated Value $400 - UP
