The following signed Free Franks: Sir Charles Adams (Com. of HMS Invincible, 1811-13); Augustus Clifford; Sir George Cockburn (Adm., took Napoleon to St. Helena and stayed to govern); Christopher Cole (Com. of several ships in West Indies, 1798-1804); Sir John Thomas Duckworth (Adm. of the White, 1813); Baron John James Gambier (Adm. of the White, 1810); Sir William Johnstone Hope (Com. of HMS Bellerophon); George Elphinstone Keith (Adm. of the Red 1810); John Markham (Vice Adm. of the White, 1810); Thomas Byam Martin (Com. of HMS Fisgard, 1800); Sir Harry Neale (Rear Adm. of the Red, 1813); James O'Brien (Adm.); John Brooke Pechell (Adm.); Sir Edward Pelew (Vice Adm. of the Red, 1810); Charles Herbert Pierrepont (Com. of HMS Spartiate, 1800); and Joseph Sydney Yorke (Rear Adm. of the Red, 1813). The following officers signed items other than Free Franks: Robert Cathens Reynolds (Rear Adm. -- PPDS, 1795); Sir William Sidney Smith (Vice Adm. of the Blue, 1810--AmsS, 1828); Sir Lawrence William Halsted (Com. of HMS Phoenix, 1800 -- LS deploying vessels and marines to Italy, 1800); and John Jervis (Adm. Earl St. Vincent -- ALS, 1817); Nicholas Trant (Brit. Col & Portuguese gen.--long ALS). All items are fine and many come with transcriptions. Lot should be examined personally be appreciated.
