Russian Lacquer Boxes: Three Lovely Examples of Russian Lacquer from Fedoskino Including Box with Exceptional Folklore Art. Russian lacquer boxes are prized the world over for their artistry and craftsmanship and these three pieces from Fedoskino are no exception: 1.) The best in the lot is a large, unusually shaped box of a Russian folk tale absolutely beautifully hand painted with gilt gold touches and a very elaborate double row of elaborate scroll work that is in both gilt gold and gilt silver expertly executed. In near to mint condition (one tiny ding outside edge of lip, signed boldly by artist on base and measures 1½ x 5 x 7". 2.) Rectangular box of maid standing next to a tree beautifully hand painted with her sarafan in gold gilt. 1½ x 6 x 2½" in very fine condition noting a discoloration in the sarafan. Bottom of box has felt paper liner but lifts out with no glue residue present. 3.) Beautiful small pot with brightly painted figures with gold leaf inlay of a boot vendor showing his work to two ladies. Pot is beautiful, near to mint only in that the bottom of pot has a navy non-skid fabric glued which cannot be removed but does not show unless turned upside down. Inside lid, the artist studio mark in Fedoskino. Estimated Value $400 - UP
