Coca-Cola Rare 1915 "Elaine" Calendar, Very Fine Condition. The first known Coca-Cola calendar was issued by the company in 1891, but by the first decade of the 20th Century the company copyrighted stunning images of popular, beautiful models and entertainers and enlisted some of the finest stone lithography printers in the nation. Antique calendars are some of the most prized treasures by collectors due to how rare most are and certainly how beautiful. To that end, one of the most beautiful of all the calendars printed between 1910-1920, is the 1915 calendar. This calendar was made available in two versions, one with the model holding a glass, another holding a bottle as found here. This calendar also boasts the gray logo in red outline, with others having the logo in all red. The colors in this lithograph are absolutely extraordinary, the pinks contrasting beautifully with the creams and blues in the background. With calendar framed and matted, we cannot tell if metal strip is present. We note some toning spots in top left corner, only one month from the original pad, a small crease in lower left and one tiny contusion. Otherwise this litho is a knockout, 32¼ x 13" beautifully framed to 40½ x 20¼". A fine example of this original calendar, suitable for every level of collector. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
From The Private Collection of James Harrison Ring.
