Coca-Cola: Rare, Antique "Exhibition Girl" Large Oval Serving Tray from 1909. Large oval "Exhibition Girl" serving tray manufactured by the H.D. Beech Company in 1909. This is the 16¾ x 13¾" tray, similar in image to the 1909 calendar which has two additional large paper lanterns. Serving tray has cola beans and foliate design decorating the perimeter and framing the very appealing image of a woman enjoying a glass of Coca-Cola. The background shows a large gondola, illuminated boats, lanterns in the distance and gorgeously lit buildings. Historical context was ultimately found in error and evidently this is not the St. Louis World's Fair. Tray is in very good or better condition, barely hinting at its 110 years in age. The main issue is a deep scratch extending from top edge of tray into the hair of the model. We note some chips to lower edges of tray, some chips to left shoulder of model and very light stains just below the neck. Otherwise this is a clean serving tray boasting exceptionally strong colors, which displays beautifully. Estimated Value $600 - UP
From The Private Collection of James Harrison Ring.
