Coca-Cola: Rare, Antique "Exhibition Girl" Large Oval Serving Tray in Fine Condition from 1909. From 1909, an excellent example of the large oval "Exhibition Girl" serving tray manufactured by the H.D. Beech Company. This is the 16¾ x 13¾" tray similar in image to the 1909 calendar which has two additional large paper lanterns. Serving tray has cola beans and foliate design decorating the perimeter and framing the very appealing image of a woman enjoying a glass of Coca-Cola. The background shows a large gondola, illuminated boats, lanterns in the distance and gorgeously lit buildings. Historical context was ultimately found in error and evidently this is not the St. Louis World's Fair. Tray is in fine condition barely hinting at its 110 years in age. We note scattered scuffing to edges, a few in the image, a light stain in pylon of terrace, some tiny white spotting and two strips of Velcro on verso. Otherwise this is a remarkably clean serving tray boasting very strong colors. It displays beautifully and would prove a fine addition to any level of collector. Estimated Value $2,000 - UP
From The Private Collection of James Harrison Ring.
