Coca-Cola Lillian Nordica Green Artwork Style Stone Litho Printed Card ca. 1905, with 1911 Pad. Lillian Nordica (1857-1914) American opera star and actress was one of the earliest celebrities featured in Coca-Cola advertising along with popular personality Hilda Clark. Her image appeared on trays, calendars, posters and novelty items distributed by the Company beginning in 1904. Printed by Wolf & Co., this stone litho printed card is noted for its rich colors and great detail including of course the single glass of Coca-Cola artfully framed by the cluster of roses atop pedestal. On verso are the "health attributes" of drinking Coca-Cola for both men (relieves mental and physical exhaustion) and women (when weary and despondent). Machine sewn to card is a single calendar sheet from July, 1911 that may in fact not be original. However, card is in excellent to nearly mint condition, with only a tiny crease to lower left corner tip, 5 x 3¾" (with calendar sheet 7¼ x 3¾") and presented sandwiched in between two squares of lucite slabs for optimum display and appeal.
