National Cash Register Model 317, Brass, Nickel, Marble and Glass Cash Register with "Amount Puchased" Placard Top Visible on Both Sides. National Cash Register Company (Dayton, Ohio), ca 1915-1922. A National brass counter top register, model 317, serial number S109833, with original brass plate, side receipt cage and oak base. In beautiful condition, this particular register has an original top panel that reads "Amount Purchased" on both sides. Height is 17", width 12" and is 16" deep. Total weight is 80 pounds. There is no key. Drawer opens when pushing a small post under the brass cover panel but the 10¢ key is stuck and just needs a quick repair. This register has a fine patina without dents or any evidence of damage, the marble clean, and the oak wood base with the thin makers plaque in good condition. A label underneath drawer indicates this was a second-hand sale and the printed label is a guarantee for service from the President of NCR, John H. Patterson, a hero to Dayton, Ohio for his overwhelming support of the city after the catastrophic flood of 1913. This likely places the second-hand register around 1915 to 1920. It was, according to the label, sold again in San Francisco. Estimated Value $400 - UP

Realized $528
