Two Engravings Celebrating Gentleman's Horse Racing, Both Published in 1866, "Returning to Weigh" and "The Run In". Two beautiful engravings by Fores's National Sports - Racing. "The Run In" (Plate 3.) and "Returning to Weigh" (Plate 4) after John Frederick Herring (1795 -1865). Engraving by Harris and Summers with colored aquatints and gum arabic both finished by hand, published and dated 1866. Plates 3 & 4 from a suite of four by Fore's National Sports London. Two superb, exceptionally handsome pieces both measuring 20 x 32" and framed to 26½ x 38½". Both pieces are framed in plexi-glass so shipping framed is not an issue. But shipping out of frame would certainly be less expensive so do let us know your preference as soon as possible after auction to adjust invoicing.
