Meller, Vadim Goergevic. Costume Design for Masks. (1884-1962) Russian Federation artist and acclaimed illustrator and costume designer. From 1919, a costume sketch on art paper mounted on chart board in gouache and pencil. Dated 1919, this appears to be from a production of "Masks" of which numerous examples can be found on the internet as well as other theatrical works from Sotheby's in London and Kunsthaus Lempertz in Cologne. Condition: There is fraying at borders, a mended tear center right that extended from edge to leg. Otherwise in fine minus condition. Extremely rare. 20½ x 13" with artist signing in red pencil in lower left and dated 1919. Estimated Value $600 - UP
