Cedric Gray. Highland Cattle Outer Hebrides. Wonderful late 19th Century Scottish painter known for his idyllic landscapes and farm scenes. Highland cattle or long-hair Highland cattle, the subject of this oil on canvas, are known for their long horns and long, wavy, woolly coats, a breed that originated in the Highlands and Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Here Gray has captured the beauty of these animals against a stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands as fog and mist cover the area at dusk. This is an extremely handsome work, 24 x 36" and beautifully framed in gilt wood to 31 x 43". Painting is in excellent condition and very appealing. Estimated Value $750 - UP
