Bill (William Maxwell) Anderson, Watercolor. Catalina. (1941-) Popular Southern California artist known for his diverse works capturing sports, horses, landscapes and distinctly California scenes. We are pleased to offer two of his works in this auction. This gorgeous watercolor captures the Catalina Casino that was commissioned by William Wrigley Jr. as a gathering place for dining and dancing and the second floor with the first theater at the time built specifically for "talkies"; it remains a popular and impressive site for events. Contrary to assumptions, it was never a gambling casino. Signed and dated 2000, watercolor is colorful and vivid, measuring 20 x 28" and frame and matted in gilt wood to 30 x 38". In excellent condition. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
