Charles Keppen Marathon Trophy for Olympic Trials Held in July, 1932 Awarded to Chester Bartruff. Outstanding Bronze Trophy. Beautiful bronze trophy from the early 1930s awarded during the Olympic Trials in Track & Field in Los Angeles in 1932 that was sponsored by the LA Times. Elegant bronze figure of man running only one foot grounded on a granite base with plaque identifying it as the "Charles Keppen Trophy". Charles Keppen was a member of the Los Angeles Athletic Club in 1926 and prior a championship runner. Athletes from the LAAC have earned numerous medals in the Summer Olympics, with a particularly high number during the 1932 Los Angeles Olympiad. The total Olympic medal tally for the LAAC is 97 medals, including 47 gold.
