MAD Magazine: Full Suite of Four Illustrated Panels by Dave Berg "The Lighter Side Eating" from 1968 (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Two panels measure 24½ x 18½" each with four strips, and two measure 21½ x 18½ with three strips. On of our earliest set of 5 panels in auction, this take on eating created in 1968. Very much a family's view on eating with many of the funniest strips set in the home. From going out to eat, to dining in, surly waiters, kids ignoring calls for dinner, dishes uneaten, and desserts while dieting. Very much as timely today as they were 50 years ago.
