MAD Magazine: Full Suite of Five Illustrated Panels by Dave Berg "The Lighter Side of Air Travel" from 1972 (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Three panels measure 24½ x 18½" each with four strips, and two measure 21½ x 18½ with three strips. A nostalgic look at air travel in 1972 with many of the targets for lampooning have not changed at all. But as many of the strips reveal, a lot certainly has. Everything from second thoughts about on about everything turned off back home, the price of beverages, seniors on a flight, attempting to sneak in jewelry at Customs, people leaning too far back in their seats and one very funny, cleverly illustrated two panel strip about air turbulence. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP

Realized $1,110
