MAD Magazine: Full Suite of 5 Original Illustrated Panels: "The Lighter Side of High School Football" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg, 1968 (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Each panel is 24½ x 18½", with three panels each having three strips and two having four. This is a near timeless collection, with the humorous observations in 1968 certainly relatable today. Everything from kids trying to see over adults, the ego of the star quarterback, cheering a fight behind the stands and not on the field, trying to get a vendor to hear you and a large elaborate single panel strip on how the half-time show empties the stand because everyone is performing on the field.
