MAD Magazine: Full Suite of 5 Original Illustrated Panels: "The Lighter Side of The Energy Crisis" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg, 1974 (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Each panel is 24½ x 18½", with three panels each having three strips and two having two. This is very much a nostalgic look back to the first significant oil shortage perpetrated by the oil companies in the mid-1970s. The various strips lampoon the difficulty of getting gas, trying to save fuel, the price gouging, several regarding "gas guzzlers", not being able to drive long distances and long lines.
