MAD Magazine Original Illustrated Panel 4: "The Lighter Side of Junior High School" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Single panel, 25 x 18½", with four funny strips which while this panel was created in 1966, not much has changed at all: Top strip is a mother and son clashing over grades when ultimately both realize they are at fault. Second strip is your typical teen daughter having classmates over for a visit and worrying the parents are going to say something "stupid" which somehow includes "How do you do?" Third panel is actually Dave Berg illustrating himself and his son where he complains about his son's dress to school conforming to how his classmates dress but dressing for work in a suit to conform with the office, why isn't that same? Fourth panel is a teen's first pair of high heels and the parents become depressed at how old they have gotten. Excellent condition signed Berg, 1966 (one of the older panels here) Page 4. Estimated Value $400 - UP
