Collection of 40+ Original Illustrations of Political/Editorial Single Panel Cartoons from 1950s to 1970s; Many as Relevant Today as Then. Fantastic collection of original hand drawn political/editorial cartoons spanning the 1950s to Nixon. 1.) The most impressive is one from Henry "Hank" Barrow (1905-1985) multi-award winning editorial cartoonist for the World Herald. From the early 1960s a fantastic image of Fidel Castro with a fumigator being asked if he is spreading Communism according to "El Beejay" (LBJ) 16 x 13" in pencil and ink. At lower left Barrow has inscribed and signed panel to States Thompkins. 2.) One single panel humor by Art Gates regarding solar energy and 2 by Ficklen's "Out Of Orbit" series on space travel. 3.) Large panel by Art Wood on politicians broken promises. 4.) 30 original illustrations, predominantly from the 1950s and these amaze in that a great majority of the topics and themes are as important today as they were 70 years ago. These are elaborately illustrated panels on 12 x 9" card stock clearly from the same illustrator/cartoonist. But as they are unsigned and the work similar to several other illustrators, we don't want to guess. But they are all witty, some quite devastating and many could be published today because some things never change, especially in American Politics. Most are in excellent condition and perfect for libraries, collectors and dealers. Estimated Value $300 - UP
