Joan Crawford, 1945 Signed Letter To Gentleman Who Brought Her Cigarettes and Chocolates with Handwritten Post Script to Come Again (1904/1908-1977) Hollywood legend for all the right and all the wrong reasons, whose many great performances have earned here a century of fans. We have offered many signed pieces by Ms. Crawford but this letter is unique. Dated April 24th, 1945 with WWII still being fought, a gentleman from San Francisco missed meeting Crawford two times running bringing her cigarettes and chocolates, two items that were rationed. She thanks him for the Old Golds and Luckies and hopes their timing is better on his next visit. She signs her name to fill the page and then adds in her own hand "P.S. If you could let us know the next time when you are going to come out we could arrange to be here J. C."
Also included is a small signed photo by Sonny Tufts a Paramount contract actor who starred in a few modest hits and the cult film "Cat-Women on The Moon". Additionally and a cover by Chase Taylor known on the radio as Colonel Stoopnagle postmarked Chase, Michigan and Taylor, Arkansas and a signed cover by Virginia Bruce postmarked Virginia, Nebraska and Bruce, Illinois. Estimated Value $300 - UP
From The Collection of Alden T. Barnes.
