American "SOUTHERNER" Single-Shot Deringer made by Brown Manufacturing Company & Merrimack Arms Co., Newburyport, Massachusetts, circa. 1866-1873. Total quantity estimated 16,500. 2.5".41 rimfire octagon barrel pivots sideways to load. 2% original blue finish remains on the barrel. Extractor mounted under barrel at breech. Silver plated Brass frame (approx. 2% silver plating remaining in protected areas). Walnut wood grip scales in good condition with a dent on each side. The action is in good mechanical working order. The overall condition is very good. Estimated Value $600 - UP
