Crocker, San Francisco, 1928 and illustrated by J. Augustus Knapp. Limited/Numbered Edition. No. 67/550, Elephant Folio (12½" x 19" tall). A monumental, compelling work by Canadian author Hall who was only 27 when he published this work. Stunning volume with 48 remarkable color plates of mythical beasts rising out of the sea, angelic beings, ancestral civilizations and when taken all together is commonly referred to as "The Secret Teachings of All Ages". Book is in very good to fine-minus condition. Wooden slip cover has fraying and staining on the cloth and paper that originally wrapped it. But the cover did its job as the book itself has only very minor issues. There are bumps and scuffs to the spine likely occurring when sleeved in box. But the brown paper and leather that cover the boards are in wonderful condition and the pages of the book itself clean, without marks or a book plate. In very collectible condition. Again, a magical publication that intrigues and worthy of study. Book sleeved in slip cover weighs almost 15 pounds.
Manly P. Hall was well known and highly respected by brothers Harold and Marshall and both often remarked that Hall was the most brilliant man of his era.
